What is the Digital Social Care Programme?

The Digital Social Care Programme is a collaborative initiative between the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Hampshire Care Association (HCA).  The programme has been instrumental in driving digital transformation across the region's social care sector. 

By providing strategic funding  and comprehensive support, the programme has empowered adult social care providers to embrace digital solutions and in turn this has helped to improve care delivery. 

A key achievement has been the successful implementation of Digital Social Care Records (DSCRs), leading to approximately 90% of care providers adopting DSCRS across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. 

This transition from paper-based systems to secure, digital platforms has streamlined administrative tasks, enhanced information sharing, and ultimately facilitated more person-centred care.

In the 2025/2026 financial year the programme will be focussing on the evaluation of the previous three years funded care providers.  At present there are no further funding opportunities for year. 

Benefits of the programme

Our collaborative programme aims to address health inequalities through the provision of digital tools and support to care staff and service users. Care providers can benefit from increased digital maturity in the workplace that directly and positively impacts care delivery on the ground, whilst taking advantage of the latest digital solutions available to the social care sector.
